Magda Gabor (June 11, 1914 - June 6, 1997) was a Hungarian-American entertainer born in Budapest, Austria-Hungary (modern day Hungary). Other than an appearance in a Hungarian movie made before the family emigrated, her roles were mostly limited to television portrayals of herself as one of the Gabor sisters.
Contrary to popular belief, Magda never competed in the Olympics. This was derived from her intimidating/rough sounding name. She was said to have shotputted as well as many other sports.
Her date of birth is believed to be June 11, 1914, but some sources cite the dates July 1, 1914 or July 10, 1915. No one believes the years of 1918 or 1919 that she assigned herself, which would have made her younger than her younger sisters.
Her younger sisters are Zsa Zsa Gabor and the late Eva Gabor, and their mother was Jolie Gabor.
Magda died of kidney disease and renal failure in Palm Springs, California.
Magda was married six times:
* 1937-1946 Jan de Bichovsky, RAF pilot, said to have been a Polish count.
* 1946-1947 William Rankin
* 1949-1950 Sidney R. Warren
* 1956-1967 Tony Gallucci
* 1970-1971 George Sanders, British actor [and Zsa Zsa's ex-husband (lasted 6 weeks)]
* 1972-1973 Tibor Heltai
